Restorative Yoga & Reiki with Katie O’Connell & Leslie Jose
NEXT CLASS: Wed., Dec. 28th, 5-7 pm $45
Please pre-register on the Yoga & Reiki page. This is an IN PERSON ONLY Class. Space is limited!!
Restorative Yoga is great for every body, offering a respite from the stress of daily life and work, and calming the nervous system, allowing the body to relax and heal. For those who find slowing down difficult, this practice is essential, complementing an active person’s workout practice, and simply allowing for a restored sense of Self. Honor your body and quietly rejuvenate your spirit while the poses soothe the organ system and allow the brain to quiet, using bolsters, pillows, blankets, and other props to support the body in a variety of passive poses.
Take everything in the description above, and add Reiki… you’ll never want to leave the studio! Reiki healing is offered to everyone who wants to receive it. Students are visited during each pose to aid in the movement of blocked energy and the intention to heal dis-ease in the body. Inspiring readings, intention setting, relaxing music, and candlelight create a profoundly beautiful opportunity to practice a very healing kind of yoga.
Please pre-register on the Yoga & Reiki page.
NEW CLASS! Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra
w/ Katie O’Connell
3-Week Series: Coming Soon: $55; Drop in: $22 per class.
Restorative Yoga is one of the sweetest, most loving yoga classes there is. Here we practice compassion for ourselves, nourishing the body, mind, and spirit in long-held, fully supported, luxurious, and restful poses that meet your body where it is, support a calm and peaceful mind, and open the opportunity for a blissful spirit in each pose we practice.
Pair Restorative Yoga with Yoga Nidra, one of the oldest most spiritual of yoga practices, and the student enters a deep state of conscious rest and relaxation in which one’s subtle energy is explored and expanded. While reclining comfortably, Katie guides participants to create a Sankalpa (an affirmative statement supportive of one’s highest health and well being), and then leads students using rotational awareness of the physical body and through each of the Koshas (5 layers of your being), all while students relax in their “yoga nest” (as Katie calls it) of blankets and support. The goal is to remain awake and alert, even though the physical body is enjoying profound rest.

This is a 3 week series, but students are welcome to drop in week by week as well. Series: $55; Single class $22

Pre-registration only~go to the event page for Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient and powerful healing modality found in the oldest philosophical yoga texts, and that offers the participant a deep state of conscious rest and relaxation during which one’s awareness of the subtle energy body is expanded. While reclining comfortably, participants are guided through each of the koshas (five layers of your being), all while remaining perfectly still. The goal is to remain “awake and aware,” even though the physical body is enjoying profound rest. To Read more and pre-register, click here: Yoga Nidra
What’s My Dosha & Why Does it Matter?
NEXT WORKSHOP TBA
The word Ayurveda means “the science of life,” and together with yoga, it is a comprehensive system for how to live a well-balanced, healthy, and happy life. Katie’s presentation will include basic Ayurvedic principles (5 elements, Ayurvedic clock, seasonal influences, and diet), as well as time to interact and discuss. This workshop is for anyone wondering about the basic principles of Ayurveda and how to apply them to one’s own body, mind, and spirit. Together in pairs, we will use a dosha assessment to determine our current state (vikruti), and use this insight to better understand ourselves (habits, tendencies, patterns, health issues), as well as give us some direction for how to begin return balance to our bodies and minds. This workshop runs about 90 minutes, depending on questions and interaction. Cost $–includes tea, handouts & a special tri-doshic Ayurveda treat! $– drop in. Next class TBA.
All workshops, events, and trainings are non-refundable. We do not hold spots in events and workshops without payment, as many workshops have limited space. You may transfer your spot to someone else in advance of the workshop with prior notice via EMAIL to Dragonfly Yoga: dragonflyoga@gmail.com or by phone: (603) 707-7529.
