Adam Bauer: Saturday, July 11th

Bhakti Yoga Workshop: 2 ~ 5 pm

Kirtan: Sacred Chanting & Satsang: 6:30 ~ 8:30 pm

BYO Picnic Dinner, and make it a half day spiritual retreat!

Our dear friend Adam Bauer is returning to Dragonfly on Saturday, July 11th, smackdab in the middle of summertime here in the White Mountains. It is the perfect opportunity to deepen or renew your spiritual practices and find greater connection to yourself and the Divine. In the afternoon, we will spend time with Adam investigating Bhakti, the Yoga of Devotion, described as the practice and embodiment of the union of the individual self and the Supreme Self.

Ahhhh, let that sink in a little…

Later in the evening, we will gather together for Kirtan, the beautiful Bhakti practice of chanting, a time to savor the joy of spiritual community and the blessing of singing the sacred names together in the sanctuary of Dragonfly Yoga Barn. For all rates below, see our “standard” advertised rate. We also have a “pay it forward” rate on our registration form so we can offer our artists a bit more for their gifts. We thank you in advance for your chosen level of support!

Workshop: Bhakti Yoga: $55

Join Adam for an intimate exploration of Bhakti Yoga, through sacred song and story, mantra recitation, and personal reflection.

Bhakti is the Yoga of devotion, and it lives at the core of the Indian tradition and practice of Yoga: the practice and embodiment of the union of the individual self and the Supreme Self. Ultimately, Yoga teaches that the duality of Spirit and Matter are resolved in a nondual unity: instead of needing to renounce and “rise above” the material world in order to achieve spiritual liberation, we can find harmony and intimate communion with Divine Reality right here, through our immersion in and relationship with the material world. These essential teachings animate many global mystical traditions, including those of both Bhakti Yoga and Kashmir Shaivism (aka Nondual Shaiva Tantra).

Kirtan and Satsang are essential practices in Bhakti–where practice and the fruit of practice merge. Here, the whole world is known as sacred: life is full of bliss, devotion, and service, and every voice is a crucial part of the chorus.

Gather at Dragonfly Yoga for this unique and lively exploration of Bhakti, to be followed by an intimate evening of kirtan, devotional chanting. All are welcome, no experience necessary 💜 For all rates below, see our “standard” advertised rate. We also have a “pay it forward” rate on our registration form so we can offer our artists a bit more for their gifts. We thank you in advance for your chosen level of support!

Learn more about Kirtan:

What is Kirtan?(from Adam’s website): The congregational call-and-response singing of Kirtan–mantra recitation with rhythm and melody–lives in the heart of the Bhakti Yoga practice, and is one of the most heartfelt practices I’ve ever known. Singing together is fun, deep and joyful, and a wonderfully healing community practice.

Why Do We Sing Together? (from Adam’s website): There’s a special joy in walking the path of love and devotion together with those we feel natural affection for. The spontaneous sweetness that arises while singing in community, sharing inspirational stories and sacred texts, is truly a nourishing balm for our hearts and souls.
