Karin Conn & Katie O’Connell

Karin Conn, CYT 500

Hi!  I’m Karin, and I’ve lived, worked, and raised two sons in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire since 1993.  While my boys were in school, and while I was building a business, I began to climb the mountains here in NH. I found that time spent on the trail calmed my mind and gave me the clarity I needed to tackle all that required my attention. Bagging all the 48 four thousand foot peaks was a huge accomplishment for me, and while my guys were in high school, I co-founded and led the school’s Outing Club to introduce kids to the White Mountain trails and peaks, teaching them how to stay safe and help each other.

I started my custom home furnishings workroom, Windows on the Lake, in 2004, the same year that I completed my first 200 hour YTT.  Yoga, like hiking, has carried me through some challenging times and taught me resilience and grace. I loved teaching and deepened my practice in Katie’s YTT in 2012 at Dragonfly Yoga Barn. This January, I went on to complete my 500 hour YTT in Kathmandu, followed by my 4th Himalayan trek.

My first trip to Nepal was in 2016, which was a time of transition for me. Trekking in the Himalayas was a dream come true and I fell in love with Nepal and her people. I felt a sense of peace and elation on that trek that I had never experienced before. I have since trekked in 2022, 2024 and 2025, and I am thrilled to be leading a trip with Katie in 2026.

Katie O’Connell, E-RYT 500

Hi! I’m Katie, and Dragonfly Yoga Barn Studio & Retreat is my home in the White Mountains of NH where I run yoga retreats, offer Yoga Teacher Training, Ayurveda consultations, Spiritual and Yoga Mentoring, Reiki, Thai Yoga bodywork, and Heart Based Meditation. I am a joyful yogi who loves to sing, cook, garden, hike, travel, and of course, practice yoga! You can find me (and often practicing yoga) in the mountain forest, on a rock, on a paddle board, in a river, on snowshoes, on the beach, and in beautiful places all over the world. Offering yoga retreats at Dragonfly and around the globe is one of my greatest passions!

I discovered yoga after my children were born, over 27 years ago. As a perpetual student, I’ve racked up over 2,000 training hours in yoga studies alone, and have logged over 16,000 teaching hours since I started sharing yoga back in 2003. I have been training yoga teachers since 2011 and have been lucky enough to study with veteran teachers and experts in the fields of Yoga, Ayurveda, and meditation for over 20 years. It is my joy to facilitate spiritual growth and evolution using the lens of Yoga and all of its facets to help us better see and be with ourselves both in this beautiful world and beyond.

I am especially excited to be co-leading this retreat to Nepal Retreat with one of my closest and dearest friends. Karin and I have been great travel buddies over the years, and this partnership represents the evolution of our sweet and loving connection, and a desire to share our joy of traveling, hiking, and the beauty of the planet with you!
