Your Retreat Leaders
First and foremost, Leslie and Katie are soul buddies who love to spend time together in Nature, share practices like Yoga, Reiki, and Massage, and gather with other amazing humans who are adventurous, compassionate, and intrigued by the natural world. They have paired so many times with these common interests as a thread that neither of them can count the moments of joy, laugher, and expansion they have shared on the water, in the forest, or co-leading workshops in sacred spaces. Together, they create opportunities for joyful gathering, personal growth, and ways for all of us to nurture our soul. Thus began their shared endeavor: Adventures in Spirit.
Leslie’s gifts include: Therapeutic Massage, Reiki, Sound Vibration and Shamanic techniques used to support optimal health for clients on the table, in trainings, and at retreats. Her deep connection to Hawaii comes from multiple trainings in Reiki and Lomi Lomi massage on the island of Maui, and it is no wonder, since water has always been a medium strong to Leslie’s world. For years she taught water classes for infants and toddlers, as well as water movement and aerobic classes to elders. She & her brother trained and competed at national & international levels in whitewater kayaking, and she continues to be found in or on the water whenever possible. It’s not a surprise that Leslie developed a technique to utilize her love of water and its qualities in combination with the healing and balancing aspects of massage, range of motion and Reiki. HYDRO~KI is a trademarked technique performed in the water using the qualities of buoyancy, resistance and its ability to conduct & amplify the movement of energy.
Leslie is an active professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and she is a Reiki Master Teacher. She has served on the Board of Directors of The Vermont Reiki Association and was part of the organizing platform of Celebration of Reiki, Inc. in Massachusetts. Leslie offers her steady and compassionate personality to others looking to find their authentic voice both in body and heart.
Katie, owner and principle teacher at Dragonfly Yoga Barn Studio & Retreats, is a fun-loving yogi known for singing and jamming with her band The Starlight Honeys, her love of cooking, gardening, and snuggling with her three kitty cats, two kids, husband Declan, and of course, practicing YOGA! She can be found doing yoga in the mountain forest, on a rock, on a paddle board, in a river, on snowshoes, on the beach… anywhere! Katie has always been fascinated by dragonflies–their ability to transform, catch the wind, maneuver spirals and water dips with such grace, always shining iridescent in the sunlight, thus they have become our studio symbol. Offering yoga retreats at Dragonfly Yoga and around the world has become a passion!
