GROUND ~ NOURISH ~ REVITALIZE
SOLD OUT!
Katie’s “Ayurveda Women” retreats help us align and synchronize with the seasons, to clear out what is no longer needed, and to open our arms to Nature’s invitation to restore, rejuvenate, and heal–whatever the season. Just like the Earth and all its creatures, we humans move through the cycles of birth, flourishing life, death, and rebirth. It is our hope that the Ayurveda Women’s retreat at Dragonfly allows us to fall into rhythm with Mother Nature and nourish who we are as women in all our various stages of life.

The Winter retreat takes place at a time when the landscape has been folded into a snowy blanket and the skies become crisp and clear. It is a time to reflect and rejuvenate as we turn down the volume a bit after the holidays are in the rear view mirror, and we have some space to decompress, rest, and recharge our batteries. Now is a time to root down, do some needed grounding, to turn toward nourishing ourselves with self-care practices that will keep our skin supple and our insides juicy as we continue head-on into the depths of Vata season, a time associated with imbalances brought on by excess air and ether elements in our bodies. These can show up both physically and emotionally, and if left untreated, they can lead to deeper dis-ease in the long term. Examples of Vata imbalance include: dry, frizzy hair, dry skin, insomnia, bloating and constipation, anxiety and restlessness, and crackling joints.
In the Ayurveda Winter Women’s Retreat we will learn about seasonal imbalances, share a cooking class that teaches you about how to prepare foods that are grounding and nourishing, and lean into self-care rituals that help us regain and maintain moisture, and enjoy yoga practices that help us root down and replenish our vital energy. There is time for a group snowshoe trek or walk in the winter landscape, to gather as women under the canopy of stars ’round the bonfire, sharing delicious meals by the fireside, or tucked under the blankets in a restorative yoga class.

THE EXPERIENCE:
Our retreat experience includes the perfect combination of nourishing food and Ayurvedic self-care practices to help us root down and dial back a bit in our outpouring of energy. It is a time when we layer on socks and sweaters, warm blankets, and shift to warm foods like soups, stews, and root veggies. We are reflections of Nature, after all, and now is the time to replenish the tissues, joints, and organs of our body with vibrant cooked food, Nature walks, breathing practices to balance the body and mind, and yoga to support physical and energetic layers of our being will all be a part of our weekend. Together we will cook, dine, journal, share stories, luxuriate in self oil massage and skincare, and take our cues from Nature during this precious Winter time!
